Yeah, naming the characters Bibidi, Babidi and Buu was definitely intentional. Actually, basically all Dragon Ball characters names are some sort of word play. The Saiyans have all names derived from vegetables (Kakarot=carrot, Nappa=napa cabbage, Raditz=Radish, Broly=Broccoli and of course since it's the royal family, Vegeta=vegetable) Videl is the anagram of Devil which makes sense since her family name is Satan lol. Bulma's family it's just literally underwear: Dr. Brief, Bikini (Bulma's mother lol), Bulma=Bloomers and Trunks)
