Generally as a community the DBD fanbase didn't really like The Skull Merchant. She seemed a little unfinished in her gameplay and came without a map. People were expecting something similar to the Singularity which we did get in the end. A lot of people also theorise her chapter was originally going to be a Predator based one but they may have lost the licence half way through and thats why her whole surveillance feel and weapon seem kinda familiar. Personally I'm not really a fan of her design, not scary enough for me. Singularity and the whole chapter was worth the wait tho

Nic Cage was a huge surprise no one saw coming. Unfortunately, he, alongside other surprises, were leaked so the devs had to release his trailer early, ruining the anniversary stream they had planned. The stream has since been broadcast and other notable things announced was a crossover between the heavy metal bands Iron Maiden and Slipknot, were survivors and killers will get cosmetics based on Iron Maiden’s mascot, Eddie, and Slipknot’s iconic masks. Something else was cosmetics for characters being made by renowned designer Ikumi Nakamura, who drew for famous games such as Evil Within. Lastly, they also announced that after the Last Transmission chapter, the next two chapters will be licensed, meaning that the characters we will get will be from other franchises, such as Wesker and Freddy. A really exciting year for the game to be sure.

I just dug the name - The Skull Merchant. But yeah can see her not really being scary enough compared to the other killers. But not sure The Legion or Trickster is super scary on the surface. Her being based on Predator makes sense. And if the license got pulled that must be why no Spotlight Trailer and the chapter feeling rushed...🤔
