Cold can be interpreted as a Jaune - Phyrra song, but it was for Monty when he passed away. "Keep moving forward" was his motto, and "Winter last all year" because he passed away in February.

So the song you guys thought was about Winter was actually another Weiss song. It was Mirror Mirror Part 2 (Mirror Mirror was Weiss' original trailer song, basically anytime a song talks about mirrors its about Weiss its kinda her whole thing). Mirror Mirror Part 2 actually had some references to other Weiss songs as well, like the "forget your dreams do what you're told" referencing It's My Turn (the other Weiss song from this OST) But you will learn much more about Weiss' parents as the series progresses, and have many more Weiss songs (I think the reason she gets so many songs is that she is canonically a singer in-universe so its probably easier to write songs for her). In fact, my favorite Weiss song, This Life Is Mine, is coming up in Volume 4, so I'm very excited for you guys to experience that

Yeah, the order is the same as what's on the official soundtrack, which is different that the order they appear in the episodes. So Jeff likely intended to give the listeners whiplash like that.

Thanks for the clarification. The picture threw us off as she looks much older in it. But we imagine Winter's childhood was very similar to Weiss and their parents were tough on both. At least the dad. 🤔
