Really glad you guys are enjoying the Destiny story! For me, the Red War is when the story really started to come into focus, with all story threads linking and contributing to the greater narrative! To clarify a few things, Calus was the former Emperor of the Cabal, the one who Ghaul and his teacher (the Consul) overthrew in order to take control. It’s said that his greed and corruption nearly destroyed the Cabal Empire (he’s also more than a little crazy). While he isn’t majorly use in the next couple of DLC’s, he has a much larger role as we get to more recent stories! He also has a daughter named Caiatl who has become a major player recently. She’s a great character and important to the narrative, the community really love her (I’m sure you guys will too!). Can’t wait to see your Curse of Osiris reaction, a lot of players dislike it but I think it’s a fun (shorter) story! Looking forward to continuing this journey with you guys!!!

What you saw at the end was the raid activity(6 player endgame hard stuff) that launched with Destiny 2 in which we boarded Emperor Calus' ship the Leviathan which was what was going to eat Nessus. He basically put us through a bunch of trials and challenges to test because as he said, he has seen things much more powerful than the light. For background on Calus himself he was the Cabal Emperor until an event called the midnight coup where a bunch of Cabal leaders worked together to overthrow him including Ghaul and Calus' own daughter Caiatl. They overthrew him because he much preferred a life of opulence and wealth instead of the typical Cabal ways of strength and might. He's a fun character and one you will see more of in the future
