Had an issue with the good mic getting unplugged after we did a mic check during this one so our audio doesn't sound great.

This take my back, was a kid when the first Pokemon hit the USA, and played most of the main RPG games and watch most of TV series. Love the nod of Mewtwo escaping from the Kanto region 20 years before, that's about the time of the first Pokemon movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back. This film is a loose adaptation of the 2016 video game of the same name.

It's never too late. :P This reaction got my back in a Pokemon mood, want to go back and watch the first episodes of the TV series and earlier movies now. :)

The games (aside from legends arcues ) gotten bad after OR/AS and the had gotten stale with ash* thank God there getting rid of him. I will say that the other games like black/white, x and y etc are great

Stopped playing the main RPGs after X/Y, couldn't get into Sun/Moon. Stopped the TV series sometime during the Diamond and Pearl season. Still have my Gameboy Color. GBA, DS, and 3DS with all the older RPGs. I need to get a Switch sometime, I want to check out Arceus and the 2nd Pokemon Snap. Did find a playlist of all the opening themes on Youtube that was a fun watch. Shocked how much of the OG Pokerap I remember. lol

tl.dr: I am glad you liked the movie. I think it's underrated as a fun to watch movie in itself. ---------------------------------------------- I wouldn't say the games got bad, just different. The reason Arceus gets accepted for being different is because it's not a main line game. But OR/AS actually was the last game that followed the "Usual" formula of the games. The newer games are easier to get into for new players and usually don't require extensive Pokédex knowledge or the owning of previous games to master. With Sun/Moon the experimental phase began, altering the the games mechanics which were staples since the first one. Like getting rid of Arenas, introducing free roaming Pokémon, not having to battle to catch Pokémon, something actually introduced in Let's Go Evoli/Pikachu though made fun in Arceus legends. Going even further away from the Core Mechanics in the newest installment. I've been around since the first Red, Blue, Green, Yellow editions and since played every game. The newest games are fun games in their own. Even though they all have problems their predecessors didn't have. But they aren't traditional main-line Pokémon Games anymore. I really hope the new features they tested merge well with the original ideas. If that happens, the next Pokémon Game, or the Game after that, may be the ultimate Pokémon experience, just like Mewtwo. ------------------------------------------------------------- Now about the reaction: I am really glad that you liked the movie in it's own. I noticed that it's easier for people who didn't start off with much knowledge about Pokémon, to like this movie. I think it's because it's actually not a good representation of the world that gets introduced and used in the games. But I still think that, in it's own, it's a good and fun movie if you don't expect it to be a movie that is much like the games, series and movies you are used to from the past.

Have seen both of them and really loved Red Notice. Free Guy was okay. Loved the concept, but there are parts where it dragged a bit 🤗
