I'm getting emotional whiplash from all the RWBY songs. How do they go from super dark to super chill then to super loving.

You guys are pretty awesome, and I dig when you actually sing to the words, you have nice voices!

"All Our Days" was specifically written for Casey by Jeff about his feelings for his daughter. Within the FNDM, most people believe there is two interpretations: Yang to Ruby, or their dad (Taiyang Xiao Long) to Yang. Some of the lines make more sense when it's Taiyang to Yang (you've made me proud, I miss the little girl, etc), but this could also be Yang's devotion to Ruby because of what she told Blake this Volume - they both lost their mothers and in Yang's words "my dad just shut down", which implies that Yang really did help raise Ruby, even though they're only two years apart. "I won't leave, I won't go, I will stay with you all our days" could be Yang promising to always be there for Ruby, or it could be Taiyang's assurance to one or both of them that he won't abandon them the way Yang's mom did. So it's a personal interpretation. "Sacrifice" is the song that - to this date is the most mysterious song in any of the soundtracks, because it doesn't have a clear parallel with a specific character. There are several characters it references and a few more that it could be about, but there's no clear "Oh this is a Yang song, this is a Blake song, this is a Ruby song," etc. So many people have opinions about what it means! One of the things I love about the soundtracks is how many of the lyrics are both hard-hitting and relate to real life. They have messages that can apply to our daily lives.

I agree with this, and it makes sense in a way. It's crazy how some songs in all the RWBY soundtracks sound uplifting but if you take the time to read the lyrics, they are really dark and heavy songs.

I think my favorite bit of these songs is that they added Weiss giving an offended "Hey!" when Pyrrha calls her uptight in Dream Come True. (Right at 13:00 in this video.)

Thanks for another great reaction video guys. I loved your song analysis, and am so looking forward to diving into your Volume 3 reactions.

You guys got me back into RWBY, I stopped around volume 5 or 6 but I know the soundtrack to Volume 1-3(mostly 1 and 2, I was done with HS by the time V3 dropped) like the back of my hand because for years in Middle/High School they, and Eminem, were all I had downloaded to my phone so I listened to them every day on my long bus ride to and from school. I lived in the middle of nowhere so I had an hour and a half bus ride both ways so I got through a big chunk of the soundtracks every day. I haven't really listened to them or watched RWBY in half a decade because I think the quality of the show as a whole dropped after Monty Oum died, but you guys made me rediscover my love for this series even though I don't watch anything Rooster Teeth anymore because of all the controversies over the past couple of years, so with that long-winded BS out of the way, thank you for randomly showing up on my recommended on YouTube a couple of months ago.

Thanks for sharing the interpretations of these songs. And you are right, great art has messages that can apply to our daily lives 😊

Love the 2nd half of Time to Say Goodbye, especially the verse about being heroes or weapons. And yea all the intro songs have a 2nd section that's not in the show. Usually that section had a different (darker) tone.

Thanks for sharing how we got you back into RWBY, at least for the time being. We heard there are mixed reviews on the show after this season, but we’ve been enjoying it so far and will see how long it keeps our interest. And feel you on that long bus ride. Had a long car ride to work for a couple years. 1.5 hours both ways sometimes 2 with bad traffic
