So about Craven Edge...let's just say that the moment Grog hurts Pike in the campaign was a very, very different situation. Vox Machina was in an encounter as part of earning information from the sphinx. The dragon isn't even involved. Grog jumps into a portal and starts drifting away into space. He can't see anyone else or communicate. So he attaches a chain to Craven Edge and throws it back through the portal to use as a grapple. When he gets back through, he finds out that Pike happened to be where the sword found purchase. They made the moment much more dramatic in the show by making Grog being out of control the more direct reason for Pike getting hurt. Personally, I think it is very a good change. They seem to be taking a lot more liberties with the adaptation this season, and so far all the changes have been great.
