@Definitely: RT is very community oriented. I imagine they decided not to invest the resources necessary to make their own when they could just foster a relationship with Flynt who does it for his own enjoyment.

And for the later volumes, I believe the matle shifts to Sirs&Madams making said lyric videos. Another great channel that delves into RWBY.

You'll see lots of symbolism surrounding the shattered moon - its one of the big mysteries of the show - as it goes on. Also lots and lots of references to roses (Ruby and/or her mother, Summer Rose), snow/mirrors (Weiss), shadows (Blake), and flames/fire (Yang). Now that you've finished Volume 1, I'm actually curious what you think about the Headmaster, Professor Ozpin. He's probably one of my favorite characters in the show. You mentioned the students (RWBY and JNPR), but you didn't talk as much about the adults (Ozpin, Glynda, Roman, and Cinder). Also, if no one mentioned it yet, the lyric songs are mostly all composed and performed by Jeff Williams, and the main vocalist is his daughter Casey Lee Williams. In Red Like Rose Pt 2, the second, older-sounding vocalist was Casey's mother Sandy Casey. Additional vocalists may show up from time to time, but Jeff primarily does the male vocals in duet with Casey, although they also use Lamar Hall from time to time (usually whenever there's a rap interlude, it's Lamar).

We haven't gotten to know the adults as much. Ozpin had that one nice scene with Ruby where we saw a bit more of him than other scenes where he has been more mysterious. So right now, don't have a strong feeling towards the adults yet.
