I love how they took time to give everyone different meals as they're exchanging concerned looks. Cookies for Ruby, an Apple for Weiss, Greek salad for Pyrrha; all very much character themed. And then Jaune gets... animal chicken nuggets, because he's acting like a toddler. Ironically, this chapter actually made me like Jaune a bit more. His line about being tired of being the "lovable idiot, stuck in a tree, while my friends fight for their lives" comes from a toxic place, but it shows that he's actually self-aware. He isn't just a joke character, but one with layers. He would be more insufferable to me if he was oblivious about the trouble he caused everyone around him. He knows he's a liability, and he hates himself for it; but instead of reaching for help, he internalizes it as a sign that he's just never going to be good enough. It's toxic, and blinds him to the amazing things he's already accomplished, but character growth has to start from somewhere. Thanks again for another great reaction!
