So far, even after almost 4 years and several quest with dain, we still barely know much information about him and his journey with the brother/sister(you can pick the MC when you start the game, but canonically the MC is the brother, and dain traveled with the sister.) However, we do know a bit more about how and why khaenri'ah was destroyed, though a lot of information is hidden behind quest/books/items in the game. Unfortunately, those info are not covered in the main story, so, I am not sure how you can learn that if you just watch the main story video. However, I do recommend a genshin content creator named ashikai, she is much like vaatividya for elden ring lores. She explains a lot of background information for the world of genshin, since there are tons of story before where the game starts. Hopefully you guys can check it out in future and help you understanding the world and story better!

Okay so a few things 1) When the sibling says "journey" what they mean is them travelling through all of the 7 nations of Teyvat. So basically what we're doing now, our sibling has already done. 2) Now knowing that Dain is from Khaenri'ah, you now see why he has that "contradicting" view on gods. He doesn't trust them or like them due to them destroying his entire nation and cursing him and the citizens of Khaenr'ah. But he also basically said don't fuck with them as well...as we can see, they can wipe out an entire civilization if they so wished. 3) Why Dain is the enemy of the Abyss can come from how he describes the Abyss people as "monsters" and how he doesn't hesitate in killing them. He doesn't agree with what the Abyss is doing nor does he believe in destroying the world for whatever goal they have. Basically, unlike the other Khaenri'ah citizens (who still have their own mind) who are working towards this evil goal, Dain basically believes in just leaving everything as is and not hurting innocents. 4) Our goal has now shifted. Originally we just wanted to find our sibling and leave. However, now our goal is to travel to all seven nations to learn the truth of the world. So now we have a new question to ask any Archons we meet and when we get the chance, asking Venti and Zhongli about the situation of Khaenri'ah as they would have been around and possibly among the gods who destroyed Khaenri'ah alongside Celestia. 5) At this point we also don't actually know why Celestia destroyed Khaenri'ah all of a sudden, but something tells me it might not be as black and white as we think. 6) The boy you saw with Andrius (Lupus Boreas) is named Razor. The list you all have prolly doesn't have all the character story quests in it and is prolly just main story and lore events. But he is basically a human boy who was raised by wolves and Andrius. This is why he basically has "caveman speech".

I agree with this. Watching Ashikai in the future for Genshin lore I believe is a worthwhile thing to do in the future as there are things lore wise you simply won't get in the main story.

I also have my doubts about Dainsleif's trustworthiness. I still remember when I played the quest last year that I didn't necessarily like Dainsleif. But I've gotten used to him now and I'm always excited about a new quest with him. I also like that he has the same voice as Sasuke, my favorite Naruto character, and also many other characters that I like. I've also forgotten so much of this story section since I've played through the entire main story of Genshin Impact including Fontaine since last year. All I'm missing now are a few character story quests. I'm excited to see what you watch next. I hope you check out some other character quests before you go to Inazuma. Although some of them aren't that exciting, I think it's always better when you learn more about the characters. I definitely wish you a nice rest of the week and see you next Tuesday.

Ashikai is damn good but I also recommend CatWithBlueHat. Huge lorehead with great attention to detail imo

On your comment about the sibling pinning the fall of his nation on Dain: his entire nation was attacked and leveled by gods. Pinning it's defense on one, mortal , royal guard is hard to get on board with. While there's a lot of mystery surrounding Dain, this quest does show he's been through some stuff. Great reactions as always! It was fun seeing this old quest again.

I feel like there's a couple things I could clear up. The twins, despite being the main characters, are the most mysterious characters in the game. They are probably immortal or at the very least very long lived since they are basically stars in human form. What we do know so far for where you're at in the story is that the "evil" twin woke up from them falling from the sky first, at some point they traveled Teyvat with Dain, they watched a nation be destroyed by the gods, watched some people be turned into monsters by the gods, and are now a leader in the Abyss Order. Also, Dain wasn't cursed by the Abyss Order with his immortality, he was cursed by the gods.
