The Crown of Sorrow was first seen during the raid of the same name, which was introduced during the Season of Opulence. It it believed to have been created by Savathun and placed in such a manner that Calus and his troops would find it. The Witch Queen hoped the Emperor would wear it himself, but as we saw in the raid, he placed it upon the head of Gahlran, a vat-grown soldier who was supposed to be bred to resist whatever mental trickery was placed upon the Crown. In spite of this, Gahlran succumbed to the Hive magics, and Emperor Calus left both Gahlran and his own collection of Hive in the depths of the Leviathan, where he invited us to put Gahlran down so that Calus could attempt to control the Crown once more. We see now where the Emperor's further experiments with the Crown led him - hordes of Scorn and a regretful Guardian whose minds were linked together and used to commune with the Voice in the Darkness.

So the actual end of the season was the Crow face reveal, we started a truce with the Cabal stopped an attempt on Zavalas life. Everything after that was actual just one mission being repeated. It was a secret exotic weapon mission called Presage you would do once every week to get a new roll on your weapon (the rifle the dead guardian owned, appropriately named “Dead Mans Tale”) for better perks, but they would add new dialogue every week to keep it interesting and to keep you coming back even if you got the roll you wanted. It doesnt really go anywhere for now but it was really interesting because we have no idea whats going on with Calus, all we knew was he was up to some spooky shit. Cant wait for the next season! Its one of my all time favorites
