Championship Football season kicking off today, as many of you know I’m quite selective when it comes to lower league English football, for the Premier league I’ll be covering analysis/tips for every game of the season, but for the championship we’ll see the occasional bet, 1st day of season can throw up odd results so be sensible with stakes, I’ll be watching today’s Championship matches not betting pre match, potential of Inplay.

Football Single - 7pm 🕰

League - Republic of Ireland Irish First Division

Cobh Ramblers vs Athlone Town - Over 2.5 Goals

Odds 7/10 (1.70)

Advising stake 5 points (5% of balance)

Reasoning:

Athlone have been leaking in goals as of recently, last 5 matches seen scorelines of 4-1, 4-4, 3-1, 1-0, 4-4

4 of last 5 H2h matches between these sides also seen over 2.5 landing, 2-1, 2-1, 3-2, 2-1, 1-1.

Athlone have a GD of 24-27 this seasoning in 17 matches averaging 3 goals per match, while Cobh have a GD of 17-29 in matches averaging 2.7, over market also being supported in the exchange.

Horse Fancies 🏇

(Fancies are selections I’d be less confident in comparison to my point advised bets so recommend no more than 1-2 points (1-2%)

Course - Cork 2:42pm 🕰

Horse Name - Current Option

Odds - 9/4 (3.25)

Won this race last year, highest rated runner with 5lb promotion to 110 following big handicap win at Galway last week, soft ground shouldn’t see to much of problem probably would prefer good, but has won 3 times before on soft conditions in his career, Adrian McGuinness shrude operator, Gavin Ryan on board.

Course - Cork 3:50pm 🕰

Horse Name - Karlsberg

Odds 7/2 (4.50)

Advising each way - Sky bet paying 6 places instead of 4.

3rd of 30 behind No More Porter beaten 3 1/2l at 33/1 on her latest outing at Curragh on handicap debut over 6f (yielding) in June. She stayed on well despite encountering trouble being hampered, expect to be thereabouts usually wouldn’t do each way when 4/1 or less but because sky bet are covering 6 places it’s worth the safety net, Cork can be a tricky track & the soft ground today may throw up odd results.

Course - Kilbeggan 7:45pm 🕰

Horse Name - Demain Des L’Aube

Odds - 15/2 (8.50)

Advising Each way Sky bet paying 5 places instead of 3.

He has won 2 hurdle races and a chase from 2m 2f to 2m 4f on good and soft ground, Won C&D beginners chase here at Kilbeggan in June wearing blinkers for the 1st time, they didn’t have the desired effect back in a handicap at Limerick when running when he was a bit keen, rain forecasted throughout the day, potentially worth a market check closer to the race, Hugh Morgan riding for Henry de Bromhead.
