By the early 1990s, the humble compact cassette was starting to show its  age. Electronics giant Sony developed what it believed to be the best  successor to tape -- but so did a former business partner.

For the sequel (Hint hint), it would be cool to see some of the places still doing new music on MD. Red Manor Records being one. Also, so examples of the details on recording your own: Format, levels, track labelling and editing, and creating labels and J cards. For example, I've found that Brother do some adhesive ribbon for their label printers. This is PERFECT for the back edge recess on the discs

That was a great watch! Great quality, and I had never fully looked into net MD, so that cool you touched base on that. I would’ve been the perfect age for them, but I only leaned of there existence from another video of yours.

While working on this episode I had actually reached out to several businesses that will do MD duplication, to ask for photos/videos of their setups...not a single one ever got back to me. An episode about how to use/record MDs could be interesting, but in terms of labels and packaging, there's an episode in the works about a big development in the MD scene ;-)
