New computers are supposed to be faster than ones that are years old,  right? Well...

The documentary I made in 2018 about Free Geek Twin Cities:

Their Web site: http://www.freegeektwincities.org

To find a similar organization in your area, I've found that a search  term like "nonprofit computer recycling" works well. How you can help a  particular location may vary -- they may accept donations, have a thrift  store (which can be seriously fun to check out, as they sometimes also offer retro tech), or accept volunteers. In any event, your support will  be greatly appreciated.

Featured music: "Nothing Matters" and "Now or Never (You and Me)" by Dan  Mason (http://danmason.bandcamp.com).

Additional music by Epidemic Sound (http://www.epidemicsound.com).
Intro music by BoxCat Games (http://www.box-cat.com).

I own the T420, a close relative of the model shown here. Last year I upgraded it to 8GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and added a USB 3 Port via the expansion slot (there’s a T420s that has USB 3 built in). It’s still sufficient for the 720p video editing I do, though I am considering upgrading from an i5 to an i7 processor to speed up rendering time. Once I finally start working in 1080p, I’ll probably need something newer.
