I store all my OS ISO's on a sata 2.5" ssd, which is in an optical drive emulator. I use the iodd 2541 which has worked good in my experience, but I'm sure there's other ones out there. Basically it's a 2.5" enclosure, but has a display and buttons and lets you select an ISO and emulates an optical drive in addition to standard storage device. So far one of the best investments I've made, because I have over 10 laptops in my household, and I myself use different OS's. Using clonezila to image something is great as well.
