I import CDs from Japan-they still sell reasonably well there. I also think the CD as a storage medium might last a while longer-CD-Rs are still around, and have been outselling music CDs for many years. I also felt I should question your statement that Amazon’s streaming music service makes better money than CDs. It may help sell Echo devices, but music streaming services are generally money-losers, in and of themselves.

It’s true that there are additional revenue streams that get brought in, which makes it hard to judge the exact impact. I think that to get the full selection on Prime music you have to pay extra on top of the regular Prime subscription fee, so that complicates things further.
