Snapshot Sunday - April 2 (Patreon)

Howdy there Patrons! 

Despite feeling the opposite, this last week was a little bit lighter on sketches and completed drawings. Maybe it's because the amount of additional sketches I did was so much lower compared to previous weeks, and the amount of time I spent on the completed ones was a bit higher than usual. Either way, still have a decent showing for this update so lets jump right into it. 

Once again, and at this point hopefully to nobody's surprise, the majority of the time spent working on art this week was for the Growth Drive, which reached some additional milestones for a bonus round and another item selection! More work will be done to get those out, and a roadmap for the remainder of the Drive will be coming out soon as well. From there, I started with the initial thumbnails for the March Patreon Reward picture, which will feature Vallory at about twice planetary size as a mean of the votes. The thumbnails so far mostly catch the vibe I'm going for, but looking at them again, I have a much clearer idea for the pic I want to do, so expect the final product to look a little different than what you see there! 

Lastly we have more character concept sketches. I was very much in a mood for big strong-soft characters earlier this week, and so I sketched out a couple of those. The top one, Maddie, is actually a character concept I've had for a LONG time but never actually sketched out. Quick summary, she's a single mother who owns and operates a local barbeque joint, aptly named "Maddie's BBQ", and it doubles as a hangout for Brock and his friends in addition to The Green Horn. The character on the bottom, who I named Jessica I guess, doesn't have any backstory or established lore, they're just a sketch to scratch an itch! I actually drew Jessica first before realizing that the mood could serve an additional purpose in fleshing out a previous character.

As I mentioned earlier in this post and elsewhere, I'll be putting up a summary and roadmap/rough timeline for the remaining pictures and events for the Growth Drive. There's still a good chunk of work to do for it, but it should still be fun given how much everything else has been enjoyable!
