It was so close, but The Shadow over Blackmore is not coming today. 

The release date is: Sunday, 15th of May

I could also release it during the week, but I want to be there and have time for you guys and be able to upload bugfixes in case gamebreaking bugs happen, and I only do have time on the weekend next week. So yeah, I think that's best for all.

I know this is like releasing it on the last day possible, and I have a history of doing that, but the game can use some polishing. Right now several things don't work properly. Well, two things, but still...

The inventory and the stats don't show up properly when you click on the GUI buttons during a scene. Instead it takes you to another scene or back to the starting screen.

I was up late yesterday, trying to find an easy, fast fix but that lead only to more errors. So I will take a small step back now and don't rush it. It's really better than doing something like releasing it on midnight and then having to constantly fix it because I rushed the first release.

I will use the additional time to polish things up and add a few more sounds and dialog lines here and there, so don't be disappointed if you were expecting it to drop today. Time flies these days and it will be sunday in no time again.

The custom drawn map is also done. I am very pleased with the result, I love the map, it is so good and you might get an idea of what places this town will have in store for you. It really catches the dark vibe of the town well and shows the different areas around the town like swamps, forest, desert, water and so on that you might be able to explore ;)

The navigation will be handled via tokens that display either the persons you meet or have the area on it, that you are going to visit (right now only two persons because of only 2 side missions/quests available). This was pretty much the missing piece and now it is in the game :) I spent a lot of time on this, I think you will love the result!

The way you've been talking about this makes it sound like a full release (whatever that means in the world of lewd games). This leaves me with two questions: - What sort of post-release updates can we expect for TSoB? - How much content is there in this initial release (any sort of indication in terms of metrics would do - number of CG's, game time in hours etc)

I never said it is a full release. I always said it is the intro of the game plus 2 side quests. It is not possible to release a full game in 4,5 months as a single person, especially with a new game engine and render engine, so I am not sure how I gave that impression talking about it. - the post release updates will just work like in any other game that I released previously. It was pretty much the same for The Asylum, Captured by Dark Elves and Femdom City. I render more and more scenes and when I think I have enough to call it a big release, I will release it - looking at the folder it has over 600 pictures (but including the character busts) and 12 videos in it

oh, it has to be said that not all scenes do have or need videos. the vampire whipping and biting and the chastity scene for example don't need videos to create a sort of motion. those work more like the fcity scenes if you take the whipping scenes from there

Aww...no chance of a release during the week? I think most of us would be ok with a couple bugs, as long as they aren't game breaking. Even if they are we'd still get a nice early sneak-peek : ) Whatever you decide we'll be ready whenever you think the game is ready.

well i expect some bugs to be in the game anyway for the first release...but I think gamebreaking ones isn't something that people would just brush aside. I remember that we had an issue with a captured by dark elves release where a touching the stone puzzle sent you back to an earlier day of the game, basically breaking everything, and of course it led to a lot of frustration and me uploading like 3 fixes of the game until the issue was finally solved

sorry to hear that in the end it is what it is. putting together such a game takes a lot of time and effort for one person. all i can do is give weekly updates about the progress and an estimate on when I think it is ready.

Ya know..... Everytime you have postponed a release in the past it was the right thing to do and totally worth it. I'm really excited and filled with anti......ci....pa..tion; Dr Frankenfurter. Yes I'm sad but from what you described I think I would have been saying that you released it too soon and it's way too frustrating. It is obvious that you are putting a lot of love and joy into this. Staying up at all hours. Thanks. I waited this long I can wait another week so I don't get so frustrated that my laptop wears the wall. And I don't throw darts at effigies of skeletons. :-) That being said, I continue to wait with Norman Bated Breath for the Intro. Holy Crap! The Intro is this big? What hast thou wrought? Where's the shower stall?

well, it's the intro is the first day in the game so there is a lot of introduction to the world happening. plus it is more linear this time, kind of like the asylum was where you followed a story one step after the other. it isn't as linear as the asylum, though. you still have to make a lot of choices and options

Actually, I have no problem with the game being that huge; more time for some quality fapping. Hell, it can be as long as The Twitcher - Wild *unt. (think i left a "c" out somewhere. Or is it an "h""?) (or is it "Bitcher"?) The thing is what is a day to BoneKing Darktoz? Yes Asylum was 4 days. But Mantis is already past Day 100 plus and I haven't gone to Jail without my $200 yet. Not that I'm complaining. Shadow looks awesome! (Seems I have a Monopoly on dated bad jokes. ) Seriously, thank you so much, as always, for explaining what's up and keeping us in the loop as much as you can. Really appreciate it.

Hello Darktoz! Don't let yourself be pushed! It's much better if you feel good about the result and about the result. In addition, it is much better than if not only the players and thus you are annoyed because of haste.

My goodness! Our life doesn't depend on it. I've been waiting for a Blu Ray recorder for over 2 months now, probably because of Corona or Suez or who knows why. So what! He will come - like the beginning of the game... Best regards from Berlin
