I've been trying to find a way to draw in some new patrons for my patreon. I am extremely grateful for those that have stayed with me thus far, but I feel as if I'm not putting out enough interest, which is making people leave. I've been trying to go back and forth with some ideas with patrons that still support my patreon. Figure I'd try this out. Pinups and requests would main exclusive to patrons. Comics will be posted eventually to the general public in b/w, lower res.

If you guy shave any other suggestions on how to attract more patrons, please, let me know. I really want to hear what you guys think. You're keeping me afloat after all!

I say yes but have patreon supporters get early and first access

Scooty2Frooty

What Zero said! Give it a delay before releasing it to the general public.

Renwin

Showing it to the general public is fine. Also fine with it being low res since they're not paying and would give them an incentive to do so.

Talismann Minis

Agreed with Renwin - let them out to the public, but give a bit of a delay, and lower res, gives them good incentive to join in.

I can't speak for if it will help or not, but I want you to know you won't lose my patronage if you make this stuff free. I love your art, so I wanna keep helping for as long as I'm... Y'know... Financially able

Eh, a majority of your content is available to the public on your FA already, often just as quickly as it's posted here. You could always post a teaser as well if you feel like going that route.

Gorehound

Too be honest, many other "big name" artists do this exact thing. Their patreons get early and high res access to the comics, while the rest (thou they need to wait for an good period) will eventually get to see what they can be getting in on should they join. Also, I'm still here and probably will never leave, the amount I pledge might change (very rarely thou) but my support will be here to stay. <3

Kazuka

Maybe. If it doesn't work, you can always take it back. In the end, it's up to you and what you're comfortable doing.

I'd say yes, and probably not limited to the comics. It's not me being cheap, I think I'm paying my fair share, but it's more a matter of making your content available easily to people in the future. I like my patreons to be early access and better res. Delayed lower res posting seems to be the norm now.

Might just be me, but I think making them publicly available might drum up interest in your work but not nessecarilly bring in new patreons because the work is available online for free. Might be worth posting the start of a comic online, but saying the rest is patreon exclusive, theory being it will draw attention and give incentive to join if its something their interested in.

I personally don't believe that patreon should become a club of exclusivities. It should be more of a tool for artists to earn some well deserved money when otherwise they'd be drawing for free.

Maybe posting a few of the nsfw pages would give people an idea of the content and they'd subscribe to see the rest? I don't know how many people would decide to subscribe over seeing the setup of a comic without knowing what the body would look like (giggity). Also I have no problems with sharing the full comics online, just looking at possible ideas.

Speaking from personal experience, I know I sought out your Patreon page after seeing a fair amount of your works online. I wanted to see more work from you, and it's what brought me here. I think letting others see what you are capable of producing, without making them pay for it straight away, will help you gain a new influx of followers.
