Patreon + YouTube Communities (Patreon)

So YouTube rolled out these "communities" (previously called sponsorships) for $4.99. I believe the platform was created to compete with Patreon. If you're subscribed to my channel, you probably saw my announcement that I intended on closing my Patreon and switching to YouTube.

I made this decision without doing the proper research and solely for convenience sake. As most of you know, I use most, if not all, of my Patreon $ for taxes. I learned that YouTube's community takes 30% of sponsorships and since I made this Patreon to help offset the cost of things YouTube does not help with (demonetization of ASMR videos, taking % of earnings, ad apocalypse, etc.) I feel as though I made my decision prematurely.

My Patreon will NOT be closing September 1 as I continue to do more research and explore YouTube's platform. If anyone has any feedback, please share! :)
