Our characterization of Michael is not inaccurate.🙂 Your perception is just very different from ours. Michael wants to be friends with everybody, because he genuinly likes them. (except Toby of course) He has a desperate need to be liked, he's not intentionally a bad person instead very obtuse and ignorant. And he's always the worst when he's trying sooo hard to be the best. The last sentence is actually the best analysis I have for Michael. So yeah a lot of times he IS the worst, but the reason for it is not a malicious one. It's always awkward because he tries too hard. And it just comes out wrong. So if he behaves like the biggest asshole - usually he's actually trying to be the exact opposite. If he would stop trying everything would work out so much better for him. But he's too insecure for that.

this!! michael scott is the heart of the show and his growth is everything. steve carelle does an excellent job at portraying this. michael can be an ass but he genuinely isn't doing it to be mean. think about michael put next to todd packer. we see the "could be" michael. the michael scott if michael scott didn't have the heart he has. but thankful he does have the heart he has and i think the episode where we meet packer was pivotal in showing the difference between an ass for the sake of being an ass and an ass who is too desperate and tries too hard that it all ends up emploding.

Now that I’ve watched both of these reactions I’m glad you enjoyed the ending of 14 as much as you did. Another channel reacting didn’t quite catch the meaning behind those voicemails so it was refreshing to see you thought of it as their best scene so far. Appreciate the insight.

same!! i love that he caught that. part of why i love these reactions so much is how perceptive he is to the characters. i get protective of michael hence my above comment lol but this is only season 2 and there's still much to go. but he really gets the meanings of certain scenes. with the office it's a lot of goofy silly humor but there are a lot of scenes done with intention. i love that he's picked up on that. too many reactors just see it as silly and i've seen some even laugh straight through the more serious mometns, even heart-breaking moments, because they don't understand this show is a mix of both and not every line and scene is meant to be hysterical. i'm enjoying jimmy's reactions so much! and i'm so glad i found this channel/patreon
