Exact opposite. It starts out rough then gets great about halfway through. But to be fair to the show, it was on network television and didn’t have much of a budget.

I have fond memories of the show, but it definitely wasn't believable. I didn't dislike the music particularly, but none of it was good. I recently tried to re-watch Smallville which has a similar "small town" schtick to it and it was pretty bad compared to what my memory thought.
