the movie won 4 oscars for costume design, make-up, score and production design. It didn't win cinematography or best picture because it was up against Birdman. But I love the perfect framing and how symmetrical it is. It elevates this movie. The characters are so quirky and sweet and Ralph Fiennes is fantastic as always. Actually...he's perfect in this role.

SO glad you loved it. There’s something about Wes Anderson’s style that just hits different the first couple of times you see it. At this point, I’ve watched enough of his stuff that I’ve started to get a little tired of his schtick, but this movie will always hold a special place in my heart. Gustave H and Harry from In Bruges are neck-and-neck in my all-time favourite movie character list, and Chef Slowik from The Menu is not too far behind.
