The "Mary Sue" claims come from two things: 1. She slaughters the french men at camp, I forget how many of them, but it's ridiculous. 2. She goes toe to toe with the predator in melee combat and gets in hit after hit without losing an arm or major damage. Nobody does that, even a physical beast like Arnold in his heyday. She's not a Mary Sue in my mind since she has flaws, loses many times, grows, improves, etc. She's an OP hero that gets flamboyantly OP in the two situations mentioned above. That was bad writing in my opinion, but it's fine.

I just chopped that up to predator being fatigued. He had been fighting all day and took a crazy amount of damage if u think about it. The camp fight was a tad ridiculous because she’s such a small woman. It was cool tho.

The Predator? Seriously? Too tired to take on a 121 pound girl that hasn't even killed a bobcat or even a deer? C'mon, that's still bad writing. I enjoyed what they did, but it could've been so much better. The movie was going so well before those two fights. She knows herbalism and medicine. Not only can she use that to make herself invisible she can make poisons. THAT is how she's supposed to win. She poisons the predator as he's stuck in the swamp using poison tipped arrows. She escapes and runs some more etc. until he falls. THEN she goes in for the kill and surprise, he's still up for the fight and he knocks her around, but with him being sluggish and confused she gets in a few licks and gets him to cut off his hand. Drop the "here's how to load and use a gun" crap. Just have her run to the French camp and then picks up the a gun and shoots him point blank in the head without the mask killing him. Then two predators phase in next to her, grab the gun, shove her to the ground, and pick up their dead comrade and leave. She returns to the tribe with the hand and the mask. Now we have the gun where the predators have it to give in Predator 2 and she won using her wits, not physical strength and not using his own weapon that he never would've misused.
