If it’s any consolation, Interdimensional Cable II wasn’t received NEARLY as well as the first one by the fans, and as a result, they never did a third one.

I do find it kind of hilarious that the “How it’s Made: Plumbus” sketch was your least favourite, as that’s the one that I recall being the most popular at the time. Adult Swim makes $$$ selling replicas of those things.

I think the thing that I personally find funny about the Interdimensional Cable sketches is the same thing that I find funny about a lot of absurdist and surrealist comedy: it mimics the structure of familiar forms (the “how it’s made” documentary, the cereal commercial, etc) but with completely nonsensical content, which creates this bizarre state of cognitive dissonance where my subconscious keeps assuming that I should understand what’s going on, but my conscious mind is just flooded with unanswerable questions. I also often enjoy the way in which it is able to expose and reflect on the tropes of these familiar forms. Mind you, there’s definitely a very fine and very subjective line between genius and hackiness when you do that type of comedy, and even at its best it won’t work for everyone. For me, Rick and Morty is rather hit-or-miss with it, but the hits are so good that I don’t mind the misses.

Yep new this episode was going to break the streak. Interdimensional cable is only cool because it's improv and improv is only cool on whose line it anyways so episode is just not cool

Trust me, you arent alone in hating this episode. I like the Jerry parts, but god damn the improv skits suck. The first time they did Interdimensional cable it was a pretty funny episode, but this is like retreading through knee deep garbage.
