Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

First of all, big congrats to Ted on his personal victory! ;) Secondly, I haven't seen this since it came out. I do remember "loving" it but having no desire to see it again. Watched most of it again this time and TOTALLY understand why it's so beloved (although I definitely won't watch it a third time - but I may order the soundtrack!) For me, although everybody was GREAT in this, Ed Norton stole the entire movie. I love when people can make fun of themselves... and he absolutely crushed it. Glad you liked it so much, Jimmy! :)

Just rewatched it. It's one of my favorite movies and one of the most deserving best picture winners of all time. The directing by Alejandro González Iñárritu (The Revenant, 21 Grams), the cinematography by Emmanuel Lubezki (Gravity, Children of men, The Revenant) - who is a fucking genius. The writing...is insane. 3 more deserved oscars. And the acting. Michael Keaton gives the best performance of his career. It was also his "comeback" performance in 2014. I agree, him putting away his acceptance speech was a tragedy, because it was SO deserved, he has never been better, and I'm still pissed they gave it to Eddie Redmayne. Edward Norton being self aware and playing a version of himself - also genius. Emma Stone, Naomi Watts etc just added more brilliance. And the music sounded like it was improvised in every scene and worked so well for this movie. It's truly a masterpiece of filmmaking in every way. ❤
