Not the greatest visual effects and some of the dialogue is a bit cringey at times...but the movie stays with you because the ending is so outstanding and shocking...and just cruel. I'll remember it forever because of it. Stephen King's story has a different ending though - but even he preferred the ending of the movie to his own. I think he said that he was sad he didn't come up with the idea himself. This was directed by Frank Darabont, the director of The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile (both of them also Stephen King stories, I guess he's a fan who knows how to adapt his stories very well!) and he was also the show runner of The Walking Dead for the first 3 (?) seasons. Which is probably why so many actors from this movie are later in the walking dead. (Carol, Dale, Andrea)

I believe it was the first two seasons of walking Dead, he resigned/ was fired after season 2. Both him and Robert kirkman the original creator sued AMC for their greed and won.

yes you're right, I looked it up just now. The actor who played Dale (who has worked with him in The Mist and The Green Mile and was good friends with him) also wanted to quit the show because Darabont didn't continue with season 3, so they killed him off way earlier than planned.

"He's from Homicide, Brooklyn 99..." Wait, have you seen Homicide already?!? Dangit, I was kinda hoping we'd get a couple of seasons worth on here eventually. What did you think of it? Regardless, Andre Braugher is one of my favourites. I have no idea why he never reached maximum stardom. It's a bit trivial, perhaps, but, thanks to this film, I think he's in the running for best door-opening-scene-in-a-movie of all time. You probably recognized Marcia Gay Harden (Mrs. Carmody) from Miller's Crossing, where she played Velma. She was SO GOOD in this that she won a Saturn award for her performance (the horror awards, basically.) I wish wish wish wish I could have seen this in a theatre on opening night. Oh my god, what I would give to see a theatre-full of people reacting to that ending... c'est la vie.

1:51:52 - watched another Reactor and she got me laughing here, despite the seriously nature of the moment. When she heard about 4 bullets her first reaction was: "okay, two people get your heads together" - as horrible as it sounds, it was funny for some reason, at how earnest and helpful she sounded.

the reason why most people wanted you to react to this movie was BECAUSE of the ending. It's what makes this movie memorable. 😊
