Korra going full god mode us so hype, I kove it. The final shot with Korra watching as a single tear rolls down her face is genuinely powerful, probably my favorite ending to a season in the whole franchise.

I'm with you in terms of Korra vs Aang. I love Aang, but his character archetype is one that we see in a lot of media: that of a reluctant chosen one, who must come to accept their role and their power. It's probably one of the most well done versions of that archetype, but it's still pretty familiar ground in terms of where his development goes. Korra is entirely different. She knows she is the chosen one for basically her entire life. She knows it, and LOVES it, and everything in her life has revolved around the fact that she is the Avatar. Her entire identity is focused around it. And that's why each finale so far has simultaneously ripped away and built up her identity as the Avatar. In S1 she loses most of her bending and is devastated (to the point where it sure seemed like she was going to commit suicide), only for this to allow her to unlock her spiritual powers and connection to her past lives, thus restoring her bending and her title as Avatar. In S2 she loses that connection, and the 'Avatar spirit' is literally torn out of her, but this allows her to use her own spirit to regain Raava. Though, the connection to the other Avatars is gone, it has also begun the cycle anew, and she ends the season with her Avatar title reaffirmed. In S3, as we see here, she is willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of the new Air Nation: she is chained, poisoned, but she uses those very chains to escape and fight off those trying to kill her (and those chains are ultimately what she uses to drag Zaheer down to the ground). It is very much a victory that showcases how great of an Avatar she has become...but we can see that its cost her even more. When she's poisoned, you see during her hallucinations how much all she's been through weighs on her. How terrified she is of the thought that the world doesn't need her anymore. And now? She's badly injured, unable to perform her duties as the Avatar. Unable to use her physicality the way she always has, since the moment we met her as a little girl. And that's not the only way she has changed. We've seen her grow so much over time: become more thoughtful, empathetic, and patient. She's grown in her relationships: with her father, with Tenzin, come out the other side of a bad romance with Mako only to still be able to be close friends, found an even closer friend in Asami (who she once thought of as her romantic rival), and more. She's a really dynamic character, and when I see people who don't like the show claim that she isn't developed well I'm honestly baffled. All of this way too long text to say, really looking forward to seeing what you think of S4.

aang is my overall favorite character in the avatar universe, i respect him because he stuck to his ideals and didn't let the world "corrupt him" (for lack of a better word), and i just have a huge nostalgic soft spot for him, but korra is a fantastic character in her own right. i love her growth over the seasons and she's my favorite character in LOK. i just love how different they made the two avatars.
