People hated on Amber when this came out, but ... Imagine if you're dating someone for months and then they decide to tell you that theyre rich. First it would be cool, until you realize they didnt trust you enough to tell you the truth and been lying to you the whole time.

I think something people keep forgetting too is that "break up" was always an option. Eve suggested it as a possible course, as did Amber herself...that's the real issue. Amber told him to choose between whatever was distracting him and the relationship, but he lied and said he'd commit while he was still not being truthful OR attentive. She wanted him to man up and end it if he couldn't either come clean or at least show up to "meet mom" things. He wanted it both ways and she resented that. He got to be a hero and lie and have Amber, and she got to have an absentee boyfriend who was lying to her...his heroic deeds and intentions did not make the relationship good for Amber.

I don't really blame Amber for this. It's not that he's a superhero, it's the constant lying and the fact that he doesn't trust her. That would piss me off too. And apparently this went on for months and months. And then when he told her, he only did it because he saw no other way to get back with her, not because he trusted her or wanted to tell her. I like both of these characters seperately. - they just are a horrible couple from the beginning, and they clearly don't belong together.
