ok watched 👌 It was fun to see and to get y’alls take. I 100% agree with Marcus—first one film is very character-driven; it centers on emotional narrative building blocks; Dawn’s scale is juiced. Tho I never fail to cry at the window scene and the flashback film 😭 yeah goes big on action , but it also raises questions of inner nature. Both have a very sweet father son thread that runs through; from James Franco and his father, to James Franco being the father figure to Caesar.. and here in this film we see Caesar and his son, And the human father and son. Lov it

Yeah, there certainly were a few phenomenal shots in this one. I'll give ya that! Kinda bummed that Keri Russell didn't really get to do much in the movie though (yep, she was in Felicity. She also starred in The Americans.)

These CGI redeemed the franchise for me. Watching the remake using humans who spent "oh so much time" learning to walk like apes as the "making of" video showed was a bit sickening considering how crap it was compared to the originals.
