I love this and consider it the best video game movie. Scott is basically the true villain of the movie, I really need to read the comics.

I'm with dummy. The movie is a grind. The gimmick could've been done in a Black Mirror episode with 3 ex's and been enough.

Scott Pilgrim VS. The World is a unique film as there's never really been a film like it before or since. A lot of films are acerbic, wacky, over the top comedy that blend reality with the unreal or ridiculous but never as smoothly as Scott Pilgrim. The film had no right being as entertaining as it does, but yet it pulls it off wonderfully. The source material was a beloved comic with a cult following so it had that built in fanbase, it was adapted pretty well but different enough to be it's own thing. All the pop culture references, snarky dialogue and ridiculous action sequences with a solid story holding it together makes it a joy from start to finish. Any other director wouldn't have captured the right spirit of the film, either being too wacky or too pretentious. Edgar Wright however knows how to take off the wall ideas and forge them into a cohesive and competent story. The cast is also stacked with talent out the wazoo Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Anna Kendrick, Aubrey Plaza, Jason Schwartzman, Johnny Simmons, Ellen Wong, Allison Pill, Brandon Routh & Thomas Jane to name a few.

The cast were all well known actors and actresses or blew up after and most all of them have gone on to be stars in film and television in the past 11 years since the film was released. It's a fun, frenetic and hilarious film overall, though it wasn't so well received when it first came out. So I understand why Cash wasn't feeling the film in general, but it gotten it's credit since then by critics and viewers alike. Anyway looking forward to you guys' movie reactions in 2021, like Al Swearingen says it can be combative. Thanks and see you later guys, peace.
