This show is on the same level of breaking bad in seasons 3-5

Foaming Clean

This show can be so frustrating to watch people react to sometimes. It shows how far charisma will carry awful people. Everyone bags on Chuck because he stoops to Jimmy's level after a literal lifetime of picking up after him and watching him manipulate and abuse everyone around him. But when just last episode and earlier in this episode Jimmy is straight-up gaslighting his mentally ill brother(Who he refuses to get help because he wants to be "supportive") it's all: Oh Jimmy, you rascal. I would like to put forth the idea that Jimmy is a full-blown narcissist and doesn't actually care for or love anyone. What is important is the self-image he can maintain through them. When he gets to see himself as a hero to Kim, he fucks his brother over without a second thought. When he realizes that that had ramifications for Chuck he immediately goes to Chuck to make things better because he can't stand the thought of someone seeing him as bad. But he never cares about anyone enough to have the foresight of how his actions will affect their real life and what they want. It's always about his role in their life.

I agree with everything you say, but remember that it's a tv show, and liking the villain of a tv show is not a reflection on someone's quality of character. Thus, them having a different view than you doesn't make the world an uglier place, so there's no need to feel frustrated. Most tv show star characters have clear lines of morality that are never crossed, resulting in pointless conflicts that are easily forgotten. This show has a character that everyone knows is bad. You don't need to remind people. The point of the show (in part) is to see how Jimmy tows the line between likable and unlikable. Sometimes he succeeds. Sometimes he fails, and you get a lot of people saying "I can't believe you like this guy," which really shows how seriously people take their tv shows.

Foaming Clean

Right, I get that. I don't mean anything in an extreme way. I'm not highly emotionally invested. My point was more that, the show points out the double standards for likable people. They're always being looked at in a positive light, so if they do something 'good' the other stuff they've done is easily forgotten. If an unlikable person does something 'bad' it's held against them strongly. I'm not making a judgment against any particular person. Especially not Jimmy: He's a great reactor. Fuck'n dope.
