Nerd Going Outside

Love that episode. W. Earl Brown is a fantastic guest and you have to love the introduction of Wynn Duffy.

I tried to think of another show where a side or supporting character is as much fun to listen to as Boyd and Jack Rackham from Black Sails might be it. Others certainly shine occasionally, but Boyd and Jack capture you from their 1st scene to their last.

Unbeheld

I really like that they wrote in Dan so realistically in this episode. If he's headed for a supermax for murders, he knows he's not getting getting any "deals", he also knows there's no way he can escape from his situation, whereas most common criminals would be busy asking silly stuff like cars and choppers. Also greatly appreciate the fact Raylan understood the situation correctly and he defused the situation by saving the only thing Dan had left which was his pride, and treated him like a human being by offering up the meal. On a side note, it's hilarious that the SWAT guys were portrayed as adrenaline junkies that were itchy to blow shit up without considering alternatives. The best thing about this series is that, even if it's written like a procedurals with the "case of the week", there's some nuggets of background info that forms a serialized storyline that carries over to future episodes. Whether it's the dialogues, or characters acting realistically, the writing is just phenomenal on this show.

Drew

Raylan and Boyd's interactions are just amazing.

Boyd jogging over to his father always cracks me up for some reason.
