I like this movie, but the fact that it won over things like Prisoners and Master and Commander is a crime.

I understand where you're coming from drew. Those two films are arguably better from an objective filmgoers standpoint. I think the fact that it's October and Cabin in the woods would make for a hilarious reaction is why it won this months poll. I really want to see these two win next months poll!

I'm pretty sure we're going to have to petition the rest of the Patrons to watch Master and Commander first at this point before it'll win because I refuse to believe anyone who's seen it would vote for this over that.

I don't have a problem with some movies coming out at the beginning of the new month. Voting for something that is exciting in October, then see it at the start of November, I wouldn't be surprised if it helps with subscriber retention. As far as Cabin in the woods goes, I've heard a theory at one point I like, that the US sacrifice was always going to fail, because they mixed up the virgin and the fool. The professor dating Dana is the fool, and Marty, who only ever kissed a girl as far as we know, and doesn't even want to hear any sex talk, is the virgin.

I know Jimmy says that he doesn't like horror. But as you can see (again) this genre has so many subgenres- There are so many different kinds of horror. This genre is just endlessly creative. Which is why I think that you, Jimmy, should be more open to horror in general. 😉 Because I believe that there are many other movies that you might enjoy. Movies that you might consider as a part of the horror genre (like the Lighthouse for example, which is psychological horror) but it's just so much more than that. (like the show Hannibal, that you also loved)
