Ninaofthe90s

I am writing this before I watch the reaction: The only thing I did not like about this episode is that they killed Dionna. I don't know...for me it was too much. I realize that this is a weird critisism because a lot of the characters seem to drop like flies in the show so far. And yes the world is brutal and they remind me of that every episode. I'm okay with that. But still...this one just didn't feel right. It was pure shock value and too much for me. Couldn't they just let her get away and never show her again? instead I have to watch that poor girl getting raped over and over again and then she gets horribly executed while her rapist is laughing at her...come on! I love the show but I did not like this scene, it was overkill. But apart from that: great f*cking episode!

yes I do think Crixus looks amazing with a beard and long hair 😂 But I like men with long hair in general and I think it suits Manu Bennett very well. But I understand that he looks more presentable with the short hair and not as untamable. Still prefer it though. 😊

Great prequel. I love the fact that Tullius was buried in his very own arena. And yep, I am team Solonius too. This prequel made me rethink his entire character and I can't really find too much fault in him. Strike a dog again and again and again and one day it won't matter you feed him, he'll bite back. His death in the arena and how happy he is to know Spartacus will end Batiatus is just all the more satisfying.

lol why would you think Crixus would tell anyone about Gannicus and Melitta. Gannicus is his brother (the term he uses for his fellow men in the ludus). And in many ways he has also helped him to become the man he is now. Crixus would never do something like this to a fellow brother to gain advantage. That's something Ashur would do. Even if he says that in the arena everybody stands alone. That's different though. Also soon he will be in a similar situation with Naevia and he also has to keep the secret that he's sleeping with Lucretia behind Batiatus' back (not really, since he knows). So he couldn't care less about what Gannicus was doing 🙂

Characters can deserve to die and still be loved as a character. Also this prequal did a great job at laying the proper groundwork for season 1 without feeling forced because of retroactive storytelling. The only thing that can be a pet peeve is the final line of not mentioning anything that happen because it is the past, when in season 1, Batiatus speaks so much of the past to Spartacus, about champions, but doesn't speak of the one who gained freedom?

To me, it added to the horror that the slaves endured making their uprising even more important.

Ninaofthe90s

well in my opinion there was no need to show that kind of horror. I already understand. Usually I don't complain about the violence in the show. On the contrary. This one just felt unnecessary. It kinda took me out of the episode for a moment.

It goes in line with the naming scheme of next season too, VENGEANCE! Vengeance for all the wrongs done to slaves.

Gannicus is so awesome :)

Maybe because the choice for forced on him. To Batiatus losing Gannicus was a failure. He doesn't like to remember it.
