When Spartacus fights the roman soldiers with Glabur watching, one of my favorite moments of the show. Does anybody else think the kissing between Lucretia and Illithyia is more of a show of dominance over the other? That's how I interpret it.

The penultimate episode of Blood & Sand is another highlight of the season, the last four episodes are a high watermark for the series. Spartacus executing Solonius with finesse, though he gives him a courtesy in telling him that Batiatus is will be sent to the afterlife shortly. He goes out with a smile, a fine death for Batiatus' arch rival.

Ashur moving up in the world, new clothes, fancy digs in the villa and of course, Naevia being given to him. He is a devious son of a bitch, sleeping with his nemesis' woman and telling Crixus it's all because of him when leaving the ludus, that's cruel irony right there.

Glaber returns with all the pomp and circumstance that smug bastard radiates. Illythia seeing this as the perfect time to untangle herself from the House of Batiatus. Batiatus and Lucretia bristle at the disrespect he openly shows, because the Legatus simply believes he is a better class of person than the likes of this fleshmonger and his faded bitch.

Spartacus's exhibition match against Glaber's squad of soldiers is a very satisfying one to watch, seeing him wipe the smile from both Glaber and Illythia. Spartacus also finally playing the long game, swallowing his pride and kneeling before him as well as not condemning all the slaves to Ultio Dominum or revenging the master, when a slave kills his master all his slaves are put to death.

Crixus and Naevia's relationship is torn asunder by Ashur's provocation that leads to Crixus' lashing and Lucretia's vicious beating of Naevia and having her hair shorn. Before she leaves she gives Doctore the truth of Barca's fate, which won't sit well with a honourable man like him.

Batiatus being able to blackmail Glaber into patronage is a favourite of mine, he gets what he always wanted, access to the upper strata of roman society, thumbing his nose at the rich shits who look down on him and screwing over Illythia. Glaber knows she fucked him and leaves her here to stew in her misfortune, much deserved.

Finally Spartacus begins his plot his insurrection from the House of Batiatus with Agron and Duro aboard they must rally the rest of the Brotherhood to rise up and kill the Romans, kill them all. Sorry for the excessive writing, but i love this show and seeing someone experience it for the first time is always enjoyable and gets me typing away. Anyway thanks Jimmy and I look forward to your reaction of the season finale, a real doozy that one, peace.
