Very satisfying to see Crixus and Spartacus at each others throats. Crixus had it coming. Loyalty seems to be a theme throughout every episode to some degree and it's interesting to see how Batiatus has very little for the gladiators he so admires. He's willing to toss them away the moment they stop earning for him.

I wish I could speak like those Romans. So much snake venom in their words. Also the Spartacus and Crixus relationship, is amazingly developed.

Another favourite episode of mine, Spartacus embracing his role as Champion of Capua and schooling Crixus in front of everyone. Batitatus getting very big for his britches, hubris though gets quickly humbled in his case. Illythia scheming to have Spartacus killed when he embarrassed her in front of those Roman Mean Girls, petty is an understatement.

Crixus regaining his worth in bed and as a gladiator with Lucretia and saving Spartacus from Segovax. Varro and Spartacus are best buds and his words well received. A nasty end for Segovax, trusting Illythia never a good idea. Also the introduction of Agron and Duro, they are a great double act. Thanks Jimmy, looking forward to episode 9, another classic episode, peace.

Illythia is one of my favorites. She's so evil and yet so enjoyable. I especially love the scenes between her and Lucretia.

I'm very conflicted about Crixus and Spartacus this episode. As a character I love Crixus way more than Spartacus and I don't enjoy seeing him defeated like this - especially now when it's important for him to show his worth. But at the same time he needs to be taught a lesson in humility.

while I considered that you might not like Crixus and Naevia together - I found myself very invested in their relationship. This world is so dark and brutal so I don't mind a love story in the midst of it all. I also like their chemistry and their music theme. It also makes Crixus more human and relatable.

Wanda Did Nothing Wrong

I didn’t know why I disliked the Crixus/Naevia pairing this season til I saw Lucifer and realised I just didn’t like seeing Lesley-Ann Brandt playing such a weak character lol I’m not gonna express my feelings on the pairing for later seasons until we get there.
