It might have been too much for you - but for me it's annoying to only ever see female nudity on tv shows. As a woman - I wanna see more naked men on tv. 😂 This show has both. And I approve. 👍👍

Get used to the amount of on screen cocks. The amount of female nudity you see on tv is generally so much more than male, especially on shows like Game of Thrones, that I think this is just fair. It always seems dumb to me when shows give a ton of full frontal female nudity but for some reason dicks are on like another level. If some people are naked, let everyone be naked, people need to stop being weird about the human body.

This show is really strange, in a good way. It's not really like anything else and you kind have to get used to the stylistic choices unique to this show before you can really get into it. I absolutely adore this show and so do a lot of people, but don't feel bad if you take a little bit to get into it. I am absolutely sure you will love it.

Pairing Crixus with Spartacus was not fair. But I'm glad they made Spartacus win by technicality only. A lesser show would have had him as a Gary Sue besting the undefeated Gaul. And yes, John Hannah and Lucy Lawless are AMAZING. I would never have bought John Hannah in such a role prior to seeing this show. I do find it somewhat humorous that he's a Scottish Roman. But somehow it works. Manu Bennets performance doesn't quite come through in these first few. Same for Andy Whitfield, who on this rewatch seems mostly wooden this episode, spare a few glimpses into his range. Craig Parker, playing Glabur is loveably hateable. As for episode overall, it's kind of a better "first" episode. It retreads a lot of the important bits of the actual pilot and puts the story finally into motion. Also, so many faces from Agents of Shield!

The actor who plays Varro (one of my favorites) the blond guy who talks to Spartacus is called Jai Courtney. You probably know him. He was in Suicide Squad as Captain Boomerang. Lots of people describe him as a very wooden actor (in roles like Terminator Genisys or Die Hard 5 (horrible movie) . But I don't think they have seen Spartacus. He's amazing in in this role.

So happy to see this series get a reaction from Jimmy. Like all shows, there's a certain amount of character building that you simply have to go through before the show can really push your buttons. I look forward to when the show gets really rolling, because there's some great intrigue, drama, action, and more that you'll definitely appreciate.
