I like to think that coin flip was the choice to let her die and eat her (and ruthlessly display mutilated corpse) or save her. Either of which would hurt Jack. P.S, bee lady is fucking creepy.

Jimmy....you are annoyed because you like her. 🧐 She's not a great character, nor an incredibly interesting character - but she's likeable. And that was really stupid. I'm annoyed as well.

I just love the coin flip. We already know Hannibal is pure evil. But seeing him flip a coin just perfectly symbolizes how he views others. How meaningless we are to him. Chilling.

Hannibal enjoys playing god. I think Will said saving a life can be as powerful as ending one. Hannibal got to save Bella...and enjoy her agony and pain at being saved...exquisite.

Brian Fuller has gone on record saying the writing for Beverly was dumb/bad, and he was aware of that. He'd planned to have her written off in this way (if not exactly -this- way) a lot earlier, in season one, but he and the rest of the crew liked working with the actress and her relationship with Will enough to keep her around longer...which arguably makes what happens to her worse, depending on how you look at it.
