As you can see with the new tier, shit is opening up (pardon my goddamn French). Any suggestions? Quick point of order: I've seen every Tarantino film, every Scorsese film, all of the LoTR, and every super hero movie released in North America. 😒

Snatch would be an amazing flick to watch. Guy Richie is the Tarantino of British films imo

Marvelous JJ

Have you seen Knives Out? I'd recommend it.

If you never saw Mad Max: Fury Road then that has my vote. Great action, Worldbuilding and filmmaking.

Despite suddenly I can't think of movies, maybe "RED" from 2010 (Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Karl Urban). I might have to come back when my brain stops having a going on the fritz.

Krieger

What about the Nolan films? Which are off the list

Gelon

How about Doctor Sleep?

Maybe something by the Cohen Brothers if you have not seen them: No Country For Old Men True Grit (The 2010 version) Ballad of Buster Scruggs

Reaction Junkie

i have a question, since reactions are soooo much better when the reactors enjoy and are interested in the material they are reacting to, are there any genre's that you don't like?

Unexpected new tier, Jimmy! Very cool. - Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World (badass Napoleonic era naval war movie based on a 20+ book series about the characters) - Children of Men (beautifully shot post-apocalyptic adventure based loosely on the story beats of Casablanca) - The Raid (modern martial arts classic) - Clue (my favorite comedy ever; a star ensemble cast of the 80s plays the silly characters and solve the whodunnit, based on the boardgame) - Big Trouble in Little China (Kurt Russell in a hilarious campy action/comedy about an overconfident trucker getting involved in a magical evil plot) - Kung Fu Hustle (basically a live action loony tunes cartoon had a baby with a kung fu movie, directed by and starring Stephen Chow, director/star of similar prior film Shaolin Soccer) - A Stir of Echoes (excellent small scale ghost/horror/mystery movie starring Kevin Bacon that is lesser known on my opinion only because it came out same month as The Sixth Sense) - Scott Pilgrim v. The World (comedy manga adventure as Michael Cera has some legitimately badass and funny fights with a string of his new crush's ex partners)

NexX

I i highly suggest the first two alien movies if you haven’t seen them fantastic movies

NexX

Oh nvm just saw you dont like horror rip

Hey Jimmy, lots of good recommendations above. To pick one a bit out of left field, there's an animated movie called "Your Name" that kind of blew my mind in more ways than one. Each frame is hand drawn (and beautifully), the music was composed based on the scenes so that's on point too, and the story took a turn that I didn't expect and pushed the movie to at least a 9/10 for me. I don't really watch animated films so this next statement doesn't really have much weight but: it's the best animated film I've ever seen, sure you'd enjoy it.

Michael

You mean Coen. Fun fact: Bill Murray publicly claims (perhaps jokingly) the only reason he agreed to do the movie Garfield was because he thought the writer, Joel Cohen, was one of the pair you are talking about, Joel Coen.

Gelon

Here’s a Netflix list I’d recommend: Triple Frontier, What Happened to Monday, Hush, Kristy, The Silence, Mine, Close. I put a few thrillers in and I figured you’ve seen Bird Box. Is supernatural thrillers considered horror for you?

T0ast

john wick trilogy, the raid 1 and 2, The Hunt (it was written by Damon Linedelof and Nick Cuse and directed by Craig Zobel they worked on the 2 dream sequence episode of The leftovers), el camino (if youve never watched it), the bad times at the el royal, Uncut Gems

Reaction Junkie

UPGRADE!!! That movie is 11/10 for reactions!

Children of men. Are you at all open to watching older films, including black&white or musicals?

Fomorach

How about some crazy, ridiculous older movies, for example the french movie Dobermann which introduced me to Vincent Cassel & Monica Belluci before they came to Hollywood (it also has the always great Tchéky Karyo). Or Perdita Durango, which introduced me to Javier Bardem, it also has Rosie Perez, James Gandolfini and Demián Bichir.

JimmyMacram

I love a lot of black and white movies. His Girl Friday is in my top ten. Musicals not so much lol

Tarsem Singh's The Fall. Visually stunning movie. You will like it for sure.

Ninaofthe90s

Since you really like anime...have you seen the studio ghibli movies? Like Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke?

Ninaofthe90s

I recommended a lot of movies now...but I have to go with Parasite. It's a south korean movie and the only foreign language film that has ever won best picture at the oscars - this year. (I don't always care about oscars but this time they actually gave it to the right movie so I have to mention it! - Good job, Oscars! 😂) It's a drama/thriller/satire about the struggle between rich and poor and everyone should see it. Also you're someone who doesn't mind subtitles. So you'll enjoy it. 😘

Jamie Roberts

Parasite, The Nice Guys, Uncut Gems, The Lighthouse

JimmyMacram

Saw Uncut Gems. Liked it. And the John Wick trilogy. Loved 1 and 3. 2 was pretty good.

Ninaofthe90s

Also one of my favorite movies ever... In Bruges... damn there are too many movies 😣

A L

Have you seen The Raid movies?

Brian Darty

Extraction on Netflix

David

Sunshine. It's a sci-fi, very atmospheric.

* Sicario 1 and 2 * The Proposition * Bone Tomahawk * Bronson * True Romance (Tarantino wrote this one but didn’t direct, wasn’t sure if that counts as a Tarantino film so I thought I’d throw it in) * Super * The Cabin In The Woods (This is a sort of horror comedy so it might be borderline, but as someone who doesn’t like horror movies myself I thought it was great.) * Kiss Kiss Bang Bang * Dredd * Drive * Blue Ruin * Green Room * Nightcrawler

Wow, this list seemed shorter when I was writing the comment...

TeddyBearBonfire

My favourite of all time is Children of Men. Ever seen it? The cinematography is fucking excellent.

TeddyBearBonfire

I said Children of Men too. My all-time favourite. That said, I didn't even think of Kung Fu Hustle—that would be a hilarious reaction. Not at all something I'd have thought of but I wouldn't pass up that for a watch :P

-Snatch -Memories of Murder -Harsh Times (Christian Bale)

Light Yagami

Watch the prestige! You’d love it

Second Edge of Tomorrow (I assume you mean the one with Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt). It was an awesome sci-fi movie.

Anonymous

Yes! Super fun Joss Whedon "horror" movie...but you know it's more about the fun than the scares.
