yep not the biggest fan of the other team. For me mostly because it felt like they were shoving the pilot episode of a spin-off into the show. Took me out of episode itself.

While I don't love the President's number coming up now and the vague nature of the threat, I like almost everything else about the episode, although I wish the Harold-TM bits weren't reduced to 3 or 4 scenes. I like Team DC. I didn't see it as a spinoff pitch, I saw it as the show answering a question many fans had asked -- what happens to the numbers outside of New York -- and also as an acknowledgement of what John and Harold did for so many irrelevants. Through all the madness and crises of faith, they kept saving numbers. This is why it mattered. Life goes on and the numbers never stop coming.

Never felt it was a spin-off pitch, but answering the question about who else might be working for the machine. I kept saying/thinking since season 4 that they should have more people helping in order to have a lot more resources. So I was happy to find out that the machine itself enlisted others. We knew about Harper when she saved Fusco from Dominick that she was getting texts from the machine.

Exactly. I can’t believe people don’t like this episode that much. The fact that the machine is deploying teams all over the world is an awesome development and makes total sense. I didn’t get the spin off vibe at all, more of a call back to the essence of the show. Made perfect sense and I loved the shit out of this episode. Last 2 coming up😢😢😢

I. LOVE. FINCH. And I love this show. I've been thoroughly enjoying your reactions. (I've mostly caught the abridged versions on YouTube, but I'm catching these last few eps in their entirety.) The show poses some interesting questions about good vs. evil and the nature of war. Harold's monologue at the end of 5x10 is all about him contemplating how far he is willing to go. And now in this episode we understand that Harold's plan (to unleash an incredibly dangerous computer virus) - while being the best chance to beat Samaritan - will cause major collateral damage. Would Harold let the machine be damaged or die if it might be the only way to stop Samaritan?
