I'm so with Lionel on this one. I'm actually impressed he helped the team for such a long time without anybody telling him what's going on. This alone proves how loyal he is. Of course they are just trying to protect him but to Fusco it looks like they still don't trust him and they do not appreciate him. Even though he's part of the team and they need his help just as much as anybody else's. Also at this point it might be even more dangerous not knowing. And honestly I'm just as sick about it as he is. 😫😑 He deserves to know the truth. You go, Lionel!

The machine is letting people make their own choices. Which is exactly what Harold wanted in the first place. I don't think the POI of this episode was stupid. He knew what would happen to him and he still decided to do it. Because he thought people deserve the truth, even if it gets him killed. I respect that.

Last episode you said Root would be the only one next to Harold that might make it onto your list of your favourite characters. One episode later Shaw is suddenly your second favorite character of the show. I'm sorry Jimmy, but that does not make sense! 🤔🤔🤣

Seeing real world Shaw woke my love back up 😂

This episode feels like it is written by someone who doesn't have a handle on the characters. The last time Root held The Machine hostage, The Machine almost died. Sure, Root is reckless but at this point this recklessness is closer to callousness. And then, Harold also feels out of character. He is such a defender of free will, yet he becomes annoyed when his Machine behaved just as he always had. Moral attrition didn't seem to be a problem when he left Claire to go do whatever she wanted early last season. Love the X-Files vibes and the general idea of a conspiracy nut episode, but this is one of my least favorite of a pretty strong season.

And btw, "4 Alarm Fire in an oil refinery" is the last thing Shaw told a flirtatious Root before her "death" in If-Then-Else.

But that's like a huge shift!! This is exactly why I'm glad she was gone for such a long time. Only then you started to notice Root's brilliance 😏😄

I love this episode, Hell this season is such an awesome ending to one of my favorite shows ever. I wish they would fill fusco in. It’s the one issue I had with the series. Fusco should have known the truth much earlier

I'm 100% Team Machine on this one. Harold can't pick and choose which moral highground he wants to be on. He kept blabbing about free will and how humans had to make their own choices (and using it to justify "crippling" the Machine), but when she actually follows what HE taught her, he gets upset because it led to a death. I feel like Harold likes to blame his own short comings (and the short coming of his own morals) on the Machine rather than accept that his ideals are flawed. Max was given the choice - live in safety, live in danger or die by talking about the truth. He made his choice. What were they supposed to do? Kidnap him against his will and lock him up indefinitely? Yeah, that totally seems like a free will thing, Harold^^
