Based on what I've read around the various boards and comment sections, the recast of Arjun Avasarala is pretty much universally disliked by the fan community. I haven't run across one person who's liked it. And the thing is, it's not just the change of the actor. It's always hard to get used to a new actor in a familiar role, and they didn't do themselves any favors by casting an actor who looks a bit like the guy who played Hector Cortez (the priest/minister dude who got scared of the ring and went back home even after Anna had Tilly arrange for him to stay). So it was a little confusing there. But after we were told this was the new Arjun, it would have been OK, I think, if they had not somehow completely changed his character for this season in the writers' room. The Arjun of Seasons 1 and 2 (as played by Brian George) was totally in love with Chrisjen and was therefore willing to forgive (and even appreciate) her "bad" behavior as something necessary for her to do her job. The old Arjun never would have confronted her and argued with her and lectured her like this one did. It just seemed like a completely different character. And it's really surprising, because the writing on this show has always been so strong and the characters have generally been very consistent. They were obviously going for something here, maybe trying to show "IT" being out of her depth for the first time in her career or something like that, but having her husband be so confrontational was just not the way to show that. One bad move in an otherwise really well done season. Thanks for your thoughtful reactions to all four seasons; I've enjoyed them. See you for Season 5!

I was an unfortunate recast indeed, they couldn't get the actor from s1-2, because he was busy doing another job, and probably couldn't secure his spot earlier since the future of the show was unknown

As a book reader I didnt mind it, all of that was completely new to me. As well as majority of Bobby stuff too. At the end of it though everything came together for the new season.

RIP Ashford, a hero to The Belt, went out like champ, singing the ballad of Captain Kidd They introduced limb regrowth in S1E1, when dude's hand got chopped of with ice Fuck Naomi's and Marco's kid, honestly, little douche Murtry is unredeemable, a fooking legend :)

Ashfords series arc was beautiful. They took a book character I gave zero fucks about and turned him into one of my fave characters. That scene of him breaching Marco's ship and his death are now in my top scenes from the entire series! Pour one out for Ashford, Ghost Knife of Calisto, he died as he lived, a badass! Thanks Jimmy, looking forward to S5!

I have to say, for the short time we've seen Marcos he's already a hell of a villain! That was a sickk setup, I can't wait to see him clash with the crew.. Or whoever he clashes with
