Michael

I love that scene with Finch being all "evil mastermind". Just how calm he delivers his lines while gunfire is going on in the background, pacing in front of Control before calmly walking off to go get what they came here for. I also love the episodes that change the perspective like this and "Relevance" (The debut episode of Shaw) because, like you said, it makes team machine look so badass.

Thanks Jimmy, great reaction. I love the perspective of this episode as it plays in the background what Root and Reese do, while focusing on Control. Now you can see that Samaritan doesn't listen to anyone anymore and has 100% its own agenda. The muslims were innocent, hired by samaritan to write code for its projects, then killed them as terrorists once they finished. I loved how they played with our emotions, making us think that Shaw might be alive.

Great reaction, Jimmy. Camryn Manheim is just so good. Talk about great casting. Control is terrible and so blinded by her belief in the system, but maybe that fresh coat of paint started to wake her up? Samaritan is just frightening at this point. "Stop it. Now." Yikes. Also, LMAO at the way you went... "Oh, Finch!" when he arrived to spoil the fun. What is crazy about that scene is that when Harold started talking about janitors, he actually was more scary than the others. The Samaritan guy's name was Travers. He is fantastic here. So horribly smug.

You are right, this episode is a bit like Relevance -- anchored by a strong female character, veers suddenly off the beaten path and tells the relevant side of the story, Team Machine shows up midway and actually comes off a lot more intimidating and suspicious. I also really like how the episode asks even the viewers to make up our minds on the targets. At the end, we are left asking how guilty we ourselves are of racial profiling, even sub-consciously.

Absolutely love this episode. What a way to come back with the team frantically looking for Shaw. We continue to see how different Samaritan is to the machine and the ruthlessness that it operates. The Nautalis game from ep 2 comes back to play with the poor middle eastern man an innocent victim of samaritans CYA tactics. I love how this show really dives into the grey area of the threat of AI. Seeing Control at the end find out that our team was telling the truth and what that may imply for the future was great way to close the episode. Can’t wait for more!!!!!

I kind of feel sorry for Control. 🙄

let's not forget she was part of blowing up that ferry and killed a crapton of people on US soil though

One thing I never understood is why the government never threatened to withdraw the government feeds from Samaritan. There was a bit of tit for tat involved in their original agreement and the government never attempted to counter threaten.
