Re: your comments on sociopaths filling major roles in TV: Dexter, Breaking Bad, Orange is the new Black, Oz, LOST, Battlestar Galactica, and others that you haven't shared that you've seen.

Protagonistic. And I was referring to her dead on the inside nature. Totally forgot about Dexter...and I love Morgan (fantastic tv character). Apologies to one of the GOATs.

Constantine

This is definitely one of my favorite episodes. I thought Simmons was going to get away with it. Everyone wanted to arrest him and deal with him in a legal way-and I know I know "that's what Carter would have wanted" but goddammit I was annoyed. Then enter Elias. His face coming out of the shadows was a very satisfying moment. The perfect dude to finish this.

3rd favourite episode of the entire show. The other two are yet to come. Usually Finch is my favourite character, but this episode Reese took the number one spot from him. I was very excited to see your reaction to him taking out the S.W.A.T team in the hotel. One of my top 5 favourite scenes of the show, pure badassery. Reese turned into Batman for that moment. I love him so much. Also the acting of Jim Caviezel has never been better. I could feel the emotional impact Carter's death had on him. I was so proud when Fusco decided not to kill Simmons in honor of Carter and what she did for him. Ugh I'm crying again 😭 and the opening was brilliant. They coudn't have used a better song than Hurt sung by Johnny Cash. And then Elias at the end "I'm not gonna kill you. My friend is going to kill you. I'm JUST GONNA WATCH" 😎 and then he disappears back into the shadows. The perfect ending. What a phenomenal episode.

I've always felt that Reese's gun not firing because it was too full of blood was some beautiful metaphor, its both kinda funny in a dark way and actually profound too.

There's something thrilling and satisfying about both Fusco's speech to Simmons and Elias' speech (... "Solve the particular problem that is you." ) which makes me adore this episode. Also, your point on sociopaths is well taken, but Shaw's sociopathy is what let's her make the ruthless decisions quickly and efficiently, like figuring Lionel preferred to save his kid.

The guy who plays fusco Kevin Chapman is such a good actor he deserves more praise he kills it

Non spoiler: Carter's character wasn't killed off just because, Taraji actually asked to leave the show towards the end of season 2. It was nothing personal, she just wasn't happy with all the darkness of the show and her character. It was draining her creatively. Everyone understood and so her character's arc was specifically written toward her exit. Knowing that, I'm no longer upset with Carter's death (I mean it still sucks) but it was something Taraji wanted to happen.

Interesting. I found the interview you are referring to. I wonder how much of her original exit interview is true or if it was all fabricated. She originally stated that Carter’s death was planned all along, just a matter of when it would happen. I guess that could be true still, she just told the producers, “ It’s time to pull the trigger.” https://tvline.com/2013/11/21/person-of-interest-taraji-p-henson-leaving-carter-dies/
