I know there are quite a few people that dislike this episode, but this is one of my absolute favourites. Especially because of Baltar's conversation with the Chief. That may just be my single favourite moment in the entire show, in fact.

This is actually one of my favorite episodes as well. It's a really well written stand alone that tackles relevant real world issues and for whatever reason gets me teary eyed at the end.

Chief held it down for the working class. Gaius is a survivor, and was part of the aristocracy he speaks of in the early seasons on galactica. Like that class issues can be handled well on shows like this

The Old Man DEFINITELY would've had Callie shot. It's not even about getting the Chief to comply primarily, it's about not allowing your men to disobey orders. That's why it made perfect sense for him to suddenly give the Chief the sit down with the President that he wanted - Adama was fine with that. But the Chief has to give first because you can NOT have your people questioning orders.
