Small tidbit about the music at the end - it was definitely over the top, but it was supposed to be. That was the theme to the old school BSG, so the producers included it and made it the Colonial National Anthem as an homage.

Honestly the first episode of Sparticus isn't that good IMO. The show gets much better as it goes on.

You're very right Drew. The first episode is awful, but they quickly start learning from their mistakes. By episode 4, it's come into its own very well and finishes the rest of the season at the top of its class.
