Like Hohenheim who shielded and protected Ed and Izumi, Al did the same thing for May!! Like father, like son! Mustang and Hawkeye together will always make for a badass duo!! I love the fact that Hawkeye became Mustang's eyes in this fight. The amount of care and trust between them is something! Everything from Al's sacrifice to the music to his armor dissipating was just fantastic! I remember feeling so melancholic when it got to that moment. Made me realize just how far everyone's come, most especially Al.

Ed and Al’s relationship is so well developed and written. When Ed went off on Father after Al’s sacrifice I was so happy

Al sacrificing his soul always makes me cry. And the moment at the end with Ed and Father is actually a really cool parallel to the Liore stuff in the beginning. In the original manga, the Loire chapter was the first one, so now that it’s coming to an end we see Ed knocking down another person who claims the power of God, and declaring them both frauds and as being outclassed. The shots are framed the same way too, with Ed holding his hand out like that.
