Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood REACTION - Episode 26.mp4

Great reaction! This is one of my favorite episodes. There's so much going on in it. Also, Hiromu Arakawa is the author/artist of the original manga, so appreciation of both character designs and story go to her. :) Envy is disgusting, in more ways than one. In particular I think that "these souls are logs on a fire" analogy shows the warped view homunculi have. The truth is that these souls *are* like Al. Al had at least some kind of body that allowed him to retain his humanity and interact with others. The souls that make up Envy never had that option, and their sense of self has faded over time, but they know enough to call out about loved ones. To beg for death. And to thank Ed. So it really makes sacrificing them - even though it is necessary - all the sadder.

Sorry about your voice. I hope you don't feel pressured to get the rest of the reactions out today. I'm sure everyone would understand if you felt like holding off for a few more days.

Jimmy I forgot if you’ve answered this or if someone has asked you: but how would you compare this to your liking for attack on titan based on what you’ve seen so far?

"Big brother, wanna play? Let's play." Just going to say now that one of the things I love about this show is how loss continues to play a huge role in both the story and character motivations. In most shows, when someone dies, they're usually forgotten after awhile but here, we see that those deaths are never forgotten. Their deaths are interwoven into the story and characters. We see how it weighs down on the characters and how it changes them, and we see this consistently all throughout the show. It's just fantastic! Getting Bradley's backstory was unexpected but completely welcomed because it was simply fantastic. That "Thank you" was both beautiful and heartbreaking. I understand Ed not wanting to use the philosopher stone, but in this case, I believe it was worth it if it released those poor suffering souls. Fun fact: Ed punching back through the gate was not in the manga but it was nevertheless a fantastic addition! Even Arakawa herself loved this addition as it was a beautiful display of unconditional love and determination to get Al back :) I have such a hard time picking favorite characters from this show, because I love everyone lol

Because Bradley is a human with only one soul, he cant regenerate like the others. ( they use up a soul each time they regenerate.) Which in my opinion makes him all the more badass.
