I agree with Mithroll. FMA:B is the only anime I know of where the Dub is better than sub. There is some dense lore and explanations of the science of alchemy that goes into the world building of this show and all the subbed translations I've watched don't explain it as well as the dub. There are all kinds of poor translation issues with subbed.

One of the few anime where dub is almost universally agreed to be better than the sub. That, and how the dub would probably be easier for you to react to, makes this an obvious choice.

PS

Edward's voice on the dub is annoying it has a nasal sound, he doesn't heroic or convincing. The voices of the characters from Chin/China are ruined as they sound just like the other characters.

Sub IMO is the superior, weird how the dub is winning seeing as AoT was sub as well. Dub isn't bad though, FMA:B has one of the best compared to a lot of animes, still think sub is superior though.

I think FMA dub is better too, but I dont think its fair or accurate to label someone a nerd or weeb for preferring the sub.

This is what I never undersootd. People say this is one of the best dubs out there and just automatically say dub is better. Have they ever thought about that the sub has one the best casting in anime? Just because English dubbing did something good in all the shit they have. Doesn't mean it is better. C to B level actors from America can never compete with what Japan has to offer considering voice acting.

Also the question sub or dub feels weird. If Jimmy would like to watch the dub he should watch it, but if its 50/50 then he should watch the sub. You wouldn't watch your favourite movie with a dubbing from B level actors and script changes.

I find it odd that it's universally agreed that the dub is better. When people who watch American dubs are the minority in anime community.

As someone who usually prefers subs to dubs when watching anime, FMAB's dub is definitely one of those exceptions for me. Sub or dub for FMAB? I think both are pretty superb, but my go-to is definitely the dub.
